What is e-waste?
Electronic waste (“e-waste”) is any waste from or caused by electronics. Obsolete or broken electronic products (i.e. cell phones and computer parts) create tons of e-waste every year.
What are the dangers of e-waste?
Most e-waste is currently exported to developing or third world countries where labor laws are lighter or not enforced. Workers who dismantle and remove valuable metals from e-waste are often exposed to high levels of these toxic metals. Land, air and water contamination occurs at most sites where e-waste is dumped.
MacService Goes Green
All e-waste that MacService handles goes through a 100% recycling process. By doing this, all materials in e-waste are harvested for future use and are not exported or dumped. Since the United States generates more e-waste than any other nation, it's up to businesses big and small to do their part in helping to reduce e-waste.
How does it work?
Through our partnership with EarthCare Recycling and ECS Refining, we are able to take all e-waste products generated during the computer repair process and have them 100% recycled.
